Sasha Odoi

Background

Sasha Odoi is a Research Coordinator at Burnet Institute, where she supports the delivery of the ELUCIDAR clinical trial – a multi-site study evaluating germicidal ultraviolet light as an environmental intervention to reduce COVID-19 transmission in residential aged care facilities.

Sasha brings more than 15 years of experience in clinical research coordination, population-based epidemiology and allied health. She has coordinated phase 2 and phase 3 sponsor-led and investigator-initiated clinical trials at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute, working across multi-site international studies with sponsors including ICON/PRA Health Sciences, AstraZeneca and NOVARTIS. Her expertise spans ethics and governance submissions, protocol management, regulatory compliance, data management and stakeholder engagement across clinical and research settings.

Sasha is a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne, Department of Paediatrics, where her research – 'Capturing infant food allergy in a diverse population: The role of sociodemographic factors in allergy prevention' – examines the real-world implementation of allergy prevention strategies and the sociodemographic factors shaping health outcomes in culturally and linguistically diverse communities. She is first author on peer-reviewed research published in the Journal of allergy and clinical immunology: in practice and has 27 co-authored publications across population allergy, clinical trials, and paediatric health.

Sasha is committed to equitable, community-responsive health research, with a particular focus on ensuring that culturally and linguistically diverse populations are meaningfully represented in research design, data collection and knowledge translation.
