Background

Aniba Koivaku joined Burnet Institute in July 2018 as a Peer Counsellor with the South Fly TB program, Western Province, Papua New Guinea.

 His roles include providing education, and psychological support to patients and their families, facilitating patient referrals and working collaboratively with other clinical staff to ensure patient needs are met.

 Prior to joining Burnet, Aniba was a TB patient who completed treatment in 2007 and thereafter become a TB treatment supporter with World Vision from 2017 to July 2018.

  • 2019: Certificate in Standard Patient Education Counselling sessions trainings (theory and practical)
