Background

Chris completed his PhD at the Burnet Institute in 2023, with his thesis titled “Using mathematical models to guide elimination of hepatitis B as a public health”.

Chris has experience working with global stakeholders including PATH and the World Health Organization (WHO). This research has included investigation of new approaches, including the controlled temperature chain (CTC) or microarray patches (MAPs), to overcome barriers associated with delivery of the hepatitis B birth dose vaccine in low-and middle-income countries.

Chris’ current research focus is the on-going development and implementation of a dynamic hepatitis B mathematical model (designed as part of his PhD), which will be used within the 2022-2027 Vaccine Impact Modelling Consortium (VIMC).
