WHO recommendations on antenatal corticosteroids and tocolytics
Past project
We supported updates to the World Health Organization’s recommendations on the use of certain medications to improve preterm birth outcomes.
The World Health Organization’s recommendations on the use of medications like antenatal corticosteroids and tocolytics needed to be updated in light of new, important evidence on the use of these critical interventions.
We conducted several evidence synthesis activities to support the update of these World Health Organization recommendations, including systematic reviews of quantitative, qualitative and health economic evidence. When published, the recommendations will become the global standard on safe and appropriate use of these interventions.
