Hepatitis B public health campaign
We are partnering with Hepatitis B Voices Australia to raise awareness about hepatitis B with culturally tailored messages and community-led strategies.
To do this, we will co-design a public awareness campaign for Chinese and Vietnamese communities that is tailored for each, with the campaign aiming to improve awareness and reduce stigma and misunderstandings about hepatitis B. We will address knowledge gaps in relation to:
- testing
- vaccination
- treatment.
We want to help create a supportive environment where people with hepatitis B can access vaccination, diagnosis, care and treatment.
Burnet Institute and Hepatitis B Voices Australia will work together to co-design and implement the campaign. Through the design, we will work with people living with hepatitis B and community members from Chinese and Vietnamese communities. Our work will happen across 4 key phases:
- Informing the codesign and campaign development
- Co-designing with community
- Implementing the campaign
- Evaluating the campaign impact and reporting results.
Timeline
This project will run until October 2026.
