Grow Healthy, Grow Strong
We're working together to improve rates of under nutrition and stunting of children in East New Britain, Papua New Guinea.
Objective
Research by the Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies studies run by Burnet Institute have shown that nearly half of all children under the age of 5 years old are stunted (low height for their age) in East New Britain, Papua New Guinea. The Grow Healthy, Grow Strong project works with communities to address these alarming rates.
Local healthcare workers and parents of children younger than 5 years old will take part in education sessions, parent groups and other activities highlighted by local stakeholders as being effective, appropriate and helpful to learn about childhood nutrition, growth monitoring and child development.
