We manage surveillance systems for HIV, viral hepatitis and sexually transmissible infections and conduct evaluations of projects and programs.
In Australia for the past decade, notifications for HIV, viral hepatitis and sexually transmissible infections (STIs) have been on the rise. We conduct surveillance for blood-borne viruses and STIs on behalf of state and national governments.
Our main objectives are:
Our flagship project is the Australian Collaboration for Coordinated Enhanced Sentinel Surveillance of Blood Borne Viruses and Sexually Transmissible Infections (ACCESS). ACCESS helps state and national governments monitor and evaluate progress towards national BBV and STI strategies.
We're working with partners to see how the 7-1-7 approach can help track and respond to disease outbreaks in the Pacific.
Partnering to eliminate hepatitis C as a public health threat by 2030.
ACCESS is a national sentinel surveillance network of sexually transmissible infections and blood-borne viruses.
