Dr Shane  Patella

Background

Shane has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Immunology from Monash University. In 2002, he completed his PhD in the fields of hepatology and endocrinology where some of his work contributed to the establishment of Paranta Biosciences. 

For the last 18 years Shane has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for several multinational companies, including GSK, Roche, MSD and Gilead, where he developed expertise in Regulatory Affairs, Marketing and Medical Affairs. In this time he also established a consulting agency, Pantheon Consulting.

Shane has worked in a diverse range of therapy areas including vaccines, oncology, infectious diseases (viral hepatitis and HIV), diabetes, cardiovascular, neuroscience and rare disease therapeutic areas where he contributed to the launch of over 15 medications or diagnostic tests in the Asia-Pacific region.

Shane is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is currently a non-executive director of LiverWELL (incorporating Hepatitis Victoria), a sessional lecturer at Monash University and a member of the Deakin University School of Life Sciences Advisory Board.
