Ronald is a public health physician (MBChB, MPH) with extensive experience in infectious diseases control programs, particularly HIV and tuberculosis clinical and programmatic management. He is also experienced in the provision of technical expertise in design, implementation and health systems strengthening in multiple resource-limited settings.
Ronald has a demonstrated history of enhancing the quality of decentralised, patient-centered care, effectively managing stakeholders, and enhancing health information and data quality and use. He has contributed to the development of numerous tuberculosis and HIV strategies, policies, protocols and guidelines. He has also provided practical training and mentorship for health workers at national and subnational levels, in health facilities and communities in many resources limited contexts. These include remote Pacific island countries and Sub-Saharan African countries with high levels of HIV or tuberculosis – such as Tuvalu, Kiribati, Uganda and South Sudan. Ronald is passionate about health for disadvantaged populations, and volunteering.
