Dr Michael Pellegrini

Background

Dr Michael Pellegrini is a research fellow with extensive experience managing research projects and coordinating clinical trials across government, higher education, public health, and private health sectors. He brings a clinical background in physiotherapy, working mostly in primary care settings managing people with chronic unseen health conditions including fatigue syndromes and persistent pain syndromes.

His research expertise lies in neuroscience and neurorehabilitation. As a post-doctoral research fellow in the Brain Recovery and Rehabilitation group at Monash University's Department of Neuroscience, he oversaw multiple research projects and managed both state-based and national clinical trials. He has also held research positions at Ambulance Victoria and Epworth Healthcare.

Michael is currently the research coordinator for the 'HEAL: harnessing effective approaches to long COVID' project at Burnet and will play a key role in an upcoming adaptive platform clinical trial designed to identify effective therapies for long COVID.
