Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) Snapshot Study

NSPs are effective harm reduction initiatives that provide people with sterile injecting equipment and safer sex items free of charge.

There are numerous NSPs located in metropolitan Melbourne. The NSP Snapshot Study will establish a system to monitor who is using NSPs and their patterns of drug use and relevant experiences, and to identify service-specific trends in service provision. The study will support NSPs to improve their understanding of variations in client characteristics and service provision with a view to improving service delivery.
