Gianna has completed her Master of Public Health at the University of Melbourne in 2017.
Her particular interest lies within qualitative & intervention research and the promotion of sexual, reproductive, maternal and child health of vulnerable populations.
She has previously been involved in various research projects addressing the protection needs of female, child refugees and asylum seekers. Including a comprehensive situation assessment at the WHO Regional Office for Europe and evaluated the EU’s response to the protection needs of female refugees during the European migration crisis (2015-2016).
She joined the Burnet Institute in 2018 as an International Health Project Officer/Research Assistant at the Maternal and Child Health/ Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Program. Her work focuses on the protection and promotion of maternal and neonatal health in Papua New Guinea.
