Ned Latham

Honours Student

Background

Ned Latham is a medical student at Monash University. In 2017 he is undertaking a Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) at the Burnet Institute under the supervision of Professor Margaret Hellard, Doctor Joseph Doyle and Doctor Alisa Pedrana.

His honours project is titled ‘Assessing the acceptability of rapid, community-based hepatitis C testing in people who inject drugs’. In 2015, Ned was awarded a summer research scholarship by the School of Public Health and Preventative Medicine at Monash University.

He examined approaches to regulating the advertising of complementary therapeutic goods and services under the supervision of Associate Professor Ken Harvey. Ned’s areas of interest include infectious diseases, sexual health, harm reduction, and health literacy.
