Doctor Alicia Arnott

Postdoctoral Scientist

Alicia completed her PhD in 2009, focussing on viral fitness and development of immune responses in patients with acute HIV-1 infection.

She then accepted a postdoctoral position at the Institute Pasteur in Cambodia, investigating the genetic diversity of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and two novel respiratory viruses human metapneumovirus (hMPV) and human bocavirus (HBoV) both within Cambodia and neighbouring South-East Asian countries.

Currently, Alicia is working with Professor John Reeder to investigate the genetic diversity of Plasmodium vivax in Papua New Guinea, with a specific focus on vaccine candidate antigens.
