Staff, supporters and friends of Burnet Institute packed the AMREP Seminar room for the inaugural Burnet Excellence Awards.
The awards celebrate medical research and public health achievements and contributions of staff and students and acknowledges the support by the philanthropic sector.
Burnet Director and CEO, Professor Brendan Crabb said the awards are an opportunity to recognise the talent and dedication of those who are committed to furthering the vision and mission of the Burnet Institute.
“These committed people have helped build Burnet’s reputation as one of the leading medical research and public health institute’s in the region,” Professor Crabb said.
“I am delighted and honoured that so many of our partners – individuals, philanthropic organisations and corporations that are supporting Burnet to meet our vision and mission, were able to come to the event.”
Staff service awards, travel grants and philanthropic grants for research and equipment were presented by Professor, the Hon Barry Jones AO, who also delivered the key-note speech.
