Your vaccine questions answered

Burnet Institute

26 February, 2021

Burnet Institute researchers have combined with The New Daily on an invaluable and informative resource to address questions and concerns from the broader community about vaccines, vaccination and the first phase of Australia’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

The New Daily invited readers to submit vaccine-related questions, and Burnet’s Director and CEO, Professor Brendan Crabb; Program Director, Disease Elimination, Professor Heidi Drummer; and Deputy Program Director, Disease Elimination, Associate Professor Joe Doyle – stepped up to answer them.

Questions like …

  • Are the current vaccines effective against the emerging British and South African variants?
  • What do we know about the long-term side effects of the vaccines? And …
  • Is the AstraZeneca vaccine effective enough and why can’t we all have the Pfizer?

If you have questions about the COVID-19 vaccines, there’s every chance they’re addressed in The New Daily article, which you can view in full here.

Professor Mike Toole was a contributor to a similar resource put together by the ABC on the effectiveness of the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines.
