Cladding on Burnet Tower

Burnet Institute

19 February, 2019

A story in The Age today referred to the Burnet Tower as having hazardous cladding.

The Victorian Department of Health and Human Services has been involved in engaging independent consultants to prepare a report on the building.

We have received a draft report that identified concerns about the cladding and a recommended staged approach to address these. Together with other tenants in the Tower, we have actively instigated remedial actions to minimise risk whilst we await further advice and the final report from the Department.

The Burnet Tower maintains a high standard of fire prevention controls and emergency management systems. The safety of our staff and other occupants remains our top priority.
