Join us for the launch of the fourth annual ‘Australia’s progress towards hepatitis C elimination’ report, jointly published by the Burnet and Kirby Institutes.

Australia is working to eliminate hepatitis C as a public health threat by 2030. The Australia’s progress towards hepatitis C elimination report brings together key data to provide an overview of our progress toward this important goal.

The latest report brings together data from 27 sources and provides an overview of progress towards hepatitis C elimination in key areas including: trends in new infections, testing and diagnosis, treatment uptake, morbidity, stigma and discrimination, primary prevention, equity, and mathematical and economic modelling.

The 2022 report has updated and new data on hepatitis C indicators among priority populations, and highlights the urgent need to improve the rates of testing and treatment if Australia is to stay on track and meet its elimination goals.

Highlights of the report will be presented alongside an opportunity to ask questions and discuss the data collated in the report, and how we progress the elimination of hepatitis C as a public health threat in Australia.
