Associate Professor Josh Vogel: Nature Research Awards Webcast

Join a global audience as Burnet Institute Principal Research Fellow, Associate Professor Joshua Vogel, explores his research into preterm birth worldwide in this special Nature Research Award Webcast.

Associate Professor Vogel was the winner of the 2020 Nature Research Award for Driving Global Impact for his outstanding body of work in maternal and child health, including research focused on the prevention of newborn deaths due to premature births in low- and middle-income countries.

Premature birth is the main underlying cause of preventable death for both newborns and children under five, and UN SDG target 3.2 aims to end preventable deaths of newborns and children under five by 2030.

During the webcast, Associate Professor Vogel will explain his focus, his approach to this problem, the challenges he has overcome and his vision for the future, with judging panel chair Nicola Jones.
