World Health Day

Each year Burnet Institute joins the international community in marking the significance of World Health Day.

First recognised in 1947, World Health Day is now a global health awareness day celebrated every year on 7 April.

This year the World Health Organization is focusing on depression, and the importance of talking about it as the first step to recovery.

The main goal of the World Health Day 2017 campaign is to increase awareness about depression, an illness that can happen to anybody. Fortunately. depression can be prevented and treated.

WHO is using World Health Day to launch a 12-month campaign entitled ‘Depression: Let’s Talk’.
