Reach, Treat, & Cure Everyone: 2016 World TB Day Seminar

Many of Australia’s leading tuberculosis specialists and advocates will join together ahead of World TB Day to highlight the advances and challenges of reaching the ambitious goal of TB elimination.

Burnet’s Director and CEO, Professor Brendan Crabb AC, Burnet’s Infectious Diseases Specialist Dr Suman Majumdar, TB Forum Chair, Associate Professor Justin Denholm and advocate Jo Chandler will be among the key speakers at the 2016 World TB Day Seminar - Reach, Treat, & Cure Everyone.

Dr Majumdar will outline Burnet’s involvement in tuberculosis programs in Papua New Guinea, where multidrug-resistant TB is on the rise.

TB is the leading infectious cause of death globally, despite being preventable and curable. In 2014 there were almost 10 million new TB diagnoses worldwide and 1.5 million lives lost.

The event is supported by Burnet Institute, TB Forum, The Peter Doherty Institute, and the Victorian Tuberculosis Program.
