Lorne Infection and Immunity Conference

Burnet Institute Head of the Centre for Biomedical Research, Professor James Beeson will present at this year’s Lorne Infection and Immunity Conference.

Professor Beeson is an internationally-recognised malaria researcher and Head of the Beeson Laboratory: Malaria Immunity and Vaccines.

The title of his presentation is Immunity to malaria; malaria vaccines, treatments and control; malaria and maternal and child health.

The meeting brings together scientists from multiple disciplines with a shared interest in infectious diseases and immunity research and translation of research into vaccines, antimicrobial and biological therapies and public health measures.

Research in these themes is particularly strong in Australia and will be facilitated by a focused forum to complement other specialist Lorne and Australian Society meetings.

Basic researchers, clinicians and veterinarians will be attending; with a strong emphasis on promoting student attendance and participation.
