Janet has made the decision to leave a gift to the Burnet Institute in her will.

For more than two decades, Janet has been a loyal friend to the Burnet Institute.

“I received an appeal letter in the mail a long time ago, I can’t even remember what it was about now, but I know I felt compelled to make a donation,” she recalls.

Some years later and knowing much more about the work of the Institute, Janet has made the decision to leave a gift in her will.

“I particularly like Burnet because they are improving the health of people in very poor parts of the world,” she said. “This, combined with the knowledge that my donations are used wisely prompted me to make a legacy gift.”

A former social worker, Janet’s community-mindedness extends beyond her involvement with Burnet.

“I’m a keen gardener and I enjoy opening-up my garden to the public. I also chair a committee to help establish an Abbeyfield house in Castlemaine for those in the community who need assistance to continue to live independently.”

Knowing that people like Janet have included Burnet in their will is incredibly helpful. It means we can make plans knowing that these funds will be there in the future. But the best thing is that we can continue and build on the work that’s already been done to improve the health of poor and vulnerable communities around the world.
