The Go for your life Melbourne City Romp will return to Melbourne's streets on Sunday 19 October 2008.After the great success of the Melbourne City Romp 2007, ‘Go for your life’ have stepped up as sole naming rights sponsor this year.  Says Katie Rossi, ‘Go for your life’ Communications Manager, “'Go for your life' is proud of our association with the Romp. It is a truly unique event that everyone can participate in. You don't need to be good at sport, and the beauty is, participants will get active while having a great day out.”

The Romp, an exciting new team-based event, is part-Treasure Hunt, part-‘Amazing Race’ and part-Puzzle. Melbourne City Romp will show you a side of the city you never knew existed, as well as raising much needed funds for medical research. And to top it all off - entrants will go in the draw for a whopping $100,000 of prizes!  Entry fees will be announced when we launch the new website but we can promise you it’ll still not only be great value but every cent of your entry fee will go to charity.

Following a massive amount of feedback and suggestions from Rompers in 2007, we can promise you that this year’s Romp will have some exciting new features.  We’re expecting a sell-out field this year, so Rompers are advised to register early.  The Romp website is currently in hiding whilst it undergoes some significant improvements and will be re-launched late June.  In the meantime, if you would like to take part in the 2008 Melbourne City Romp or took part last year and have friends who missed out on the 2007 Romp, you can all register your details at www.cityromp.com and we’ll make sure you receive all the latest Romp news as well as letting you know the minute entries open.

Don’t forget – the brand new Brisbane City Romp will take place on Sunday 21 September 2008. Melburnians have an additional reason to consider heading north for Brisbane City Romp AND conversely Brisbanites have a reason to consider heading south for the Melbourne City Romp - there are going to be some significant prizes on offer for any Romp teams who complete the double ie Brisbane City Romp in September and Melbourne City Romp in October. All will be revealed when the new Romp website is launched mid-June.
