Peer Educator leading a field based training program at Dong Huong Commune Health Centre in Thanh Hoa Province Vietnam

In India, CHR developed a Resource Module for Trainers: Comprehensive responses for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care among Drug Users in India, through a constant process of participatory review and revision to contextualise the training, in addition to an ongoing capacity building process through training of local trainers.

The module was developed in conjunction with a local Technical Working Group, field tested, and is now set to be formally adopted by the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) as a national level training curriculum on HIV and drug use.

With support from Family Health International these modules have been adapted for use in five countries in the Mekong Region, although the modules are not yet funded for publication and dissemination.

CHR also produced the Manual for Reducing Drug Related Harm, co-authored with the Asian Harm Reduction Network, first published in 2000, and a second and expanded version in 2003, and sponsored by Family Health International. An Indonesian specific version, was developed with a group of local researchers and implementers, in Bahasa Indonesia.
