Student placements, Voluntary work and Internships in the Centre for International Health
We get a significant number of requests for opportunities for placements, internships and voluntary work in the Centre.
Unfortunately we can only accommodate very few of the interested individuals. Specific tasks must be identified, a specific supervisor needs to be available and it is necessary to match our work needs with the expertise of individuals.
However, there are occasions when individuals can be appropriately placed and given a task that will help them while contributing to our work. Please email ciheducation@burnet.edu.au to enquire.
The following are examples of the type of work done by students on placement with this Centre over the last few years.
-
Literature searches, such as:
the use of campaigns for public health
-
Analysis of quantitative data, using epidemiological software such as:
equipment in health facilities in PNG
-
Analysis of qualitative data, either by hand or using analysis software, such as:
analysis of staff outreach reports
