Our Mission
The Centre for International Health is committed to improving the health of communities in developing countries through strengthening primary health care and the control of communicable diseases. It focuses on the development and delivery of effective responses to the identified needs of those communities and countries. The Centre aims both to support effective health programs and to influence more broadly international health policies and initiatives within the developing world.

- A commitment to applying scientific rigor to the identification of health issues and problems, and the development of effective responses
- A focus on sustainable population-based preventative strategies to address important health issues
- A broad skill base and multi-disciplinary approach to these complex issues, allowing holistic and flexible responses to be developed and implemented.
- A partnership approach with local organisations and communities, enhancing their capacity to improve and sustain the health status and overall well being of communities
