Burnet manages a "Film Festival" stream as part of the Annual International Conference on Reducing Drug Related Harm.

The Film Fest was first incorporated into the conferrence at the 15th International Conference on the Reduction of Drug Related Harm (ICRDRH) in Melbourne, Australia, April 2004.  Over 50 works from ten countries were submitted. The event was an overwhelming success with capacity crowds at all sessions.  The Film Fest stream has formed a part of the ICRDRH program each year since  and has cemented its place within the overall conference program. It remains an innovative and engaging forum presenting new insights into the challenges facing harm reduction professionals world wide.

The Film Fest screens documentaries, advocacy films, training videos, and fictional work relevant to reducing drug and alcohol related harms. Films shown at the event have subsequently been used for advocacy purposes in many countries.

In April 2009 the ICRDRH and  Film Fest  will be held in Bangkok. Click here for film abstract and submission forms. Film abstracts close on 15 January 2009. For further information please email the Drugs & Harm Reduction Film Fest Committee filmfest@burnet.edu.au .
