News & Events Support Our WorkWe urgently need to raise $260,000 for Burnet’s first super-resolution microscope. We hope you can help.
We’d like to introduce you to Thongly and her daughter Meena who live in a rural village in the Sayabouly province in Asia’s Lao PDR.
Thanks to Burnet’s outreach clinic situated only 500 metres from their village, Thongly and her daughter Meena recently had vital health checks and Meena received essential childhood vaccinations.
By donating to Burnet’s Healthy Babies, Healthy Futures Appeal you’ll be joining hundreds of people who’re making positive changes to the lives of mothers and their children.
In six remote villages of Papua New Guinea, we assisted locals in 83 percent of births with vaccination, compared to a local average of just percent.
In Laos' Vilabouly district, an increasing proportion of children are being vaccinated as a result of Burnet outreach clinics.
And sometimes the best help we can offer is a new idea. Burnet’s research has helped ensure that the right ideas are based on sound evidence and generated in the local context.
"When I had my children in Australia, I knew I could rely on comprehensive care for me and my baby. But I feel for those women in developing countries who have children without professional support. I invite you to give to Burnet and make a life changing difference to vulnerable women and their children."
